Blair Witch Is Officially Coming To PS4 On December 3
Bloober Team and Lionsgate have announced that Blair Witch is coming to PlayStation 4 starting December 3rd. Players will be able to purchase a digital copy of the game for $29.90 that includes a number of big additions since the PC and Xbox One versions launched earlier this year. This version of the game coincides with a DLC pack that will be available on all versions of the game called the Good Boy Pack. This DLC, appropriately enough, adds new skins for the dog Bullet, as well as new animations, cell phone games and wallpapers. You can check out the announcement trailer for the PlayStation 4 version of the game below.
The game centers on the events surrounding a young boy’s disappearance in the Black Hills Forest in 1996. “Players experience the horror as Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past” goes searching for the boy with Bullet. The woods are said to be an “endless nightmare” as Ellis works to confront his own past and to discover the mysteries of the forest itself. Players will find horrifyingly beautiful graphics rendered in 4K. Decisions made in-game determine the outcome of the game that adds a layer of replayability.
In our review Steve summarized by saying:
There’s a lot of things to like about Blair Witch, from the way it invokes the imagery of the original film, to some inventive camcorder puzzles and intriguing depictions of trauma, but most of these aspects aren’t given the time to really develop. There’s the skeleton of a really good horror-based walking sim here, and while it’s still worth checking out for horror fans, it feels more like a first episode of a series rather than a standalone game. A missed opportunity; all Woody and no real Buzz.
Blair Witch will be released on December 3rd digitally for €29.99, with a physical release to follow.
