Blizzard Started Offering Automated Refunds For Warcraft III Reforged

Fortunately for Blizzard, after the not-great launch of Warcraft III: Reforged, everything blew over… by which we mean things got significantly worse, to the point of angry players making a faux-advertising page for Warcraft III: Refunded. The good news is that refunds appear to now be happening properly after some reports of issues; the less-good news is that there’s literally an automated form for requesting and providing refunds, which doesn’t bode well for the state of affairs or fixes to the game.

Reforged falsely marketed many of its features and in many ways is actually a downgrade from the original Warcraft 3. It is surprising how Blizzard isn’t facing a class-action lawsuit over this. At least you can get you money back now.

As soon as Warcraft 3 Reforged hit the shelves, Blizzard has received a thrashing from fans. When the game was first announced at BlizzCon 2018, the game looked like a completely remastered version. When the game saw the light of day, fans instantly recognized that something was awfully wrong.

People were quick to compare the released product with the original game and the various trailers and screenshots that were released before. The comparison confirmed the doubts of the fans. Warcraft 3 Reforged had somehow gone through a graphic downgrade prior to its release.

In some cases, the textures of Warcraft 3 Reforged looked worse than the original game itself. The original Warcraft 3 was arguably the best installment in the Warcraft franchise. It paved the way for Blizzard Entertainment to release World of Warcraft which received universal acclaim.

Refunding the game will not make up for the let-down that is Warcraft 3 Reforged. The game is not at all what they advertised it to be. Instead of automatic refunds, they should announce a new patch or rollback the game, entirely. That would give them enough time to sort out its graphical problems. There seems to be no evidence of such a thing happening. As of right now, fans are penalizing Blizzard for the mess that is Warcraft 3 Reforged.

Blizzard are yet to officially respond to the backlash or release an update for the game but at least they are starting to offer an easier way to get refunds for Warcraft III: Reforged.

You can visit the company’s official support page to ask for a refund.
