Bruce Campbell Hints Return As Ash For An Evil Dead Game
Bruce Campbell will come out of retirement for an Evil Dead game so he can be the schmuck who hams it up as Ashy Slashy. Bruce Campbell has said that Ashy Slashy will be back. Rather than making his triumphant return from ‘retirement’ in the fourth movie Sam Raimi had been pondering for years, the demon slayer will charm us with his goofball antics and cheesy one-liners once more in the realm of video games.

Responding to a tweet (above) asking if there will be a new Evil Dead video game, Bruce Campbell simply replied ‘yes’. And according to Comicbook, Bruce Campbell first hinted at an Evil Dead game back in August 2018, saying they are doing a “whole immersive kind of dealio. I’ll be Ash for that, because I wouldn’t want someone else’s voice hamming it up.”
Again, he didn’t note when we would be seeing the game, though this year is definitely filled with possibilities. And despite Ash vs. Evil Dead’s cancellation, there are still some folks out there that would love to see Ash and his fellow Ghost Beaters make a comeback. Hey, maybe we could see some co-op. That would be…groovy.
Previously released Evil Dead games have gotten a pretty good reaction from the community (especially A Fistful of Boom-stick), so the demand is certainly there. We’ll just have to see what gets announced over the next few months.
We don’t know when this mysterious Evil Dead game will officially be announced, but what we do know is that Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake is a must-buy zombie title that will more than pass the time. Although Capcom’s demo was a stingy tease, fans have found a laughably easy and obvious workaround the time-limit.
