Capcom Reports Resident Evil 2 Demo Surpasses 1.4 Million Players
Capcom has announced this player achievement by the Resident Evil.net player counter, a website dedicated to showing the location and the amount of players in each country. At the time of writing this, 1,423,667 million players have downloaded and attempted the 1-shot demo. Of those 1.4 million players, only 28% have completed the demo. Guessing that completion number is thanks to the 30-minutes of game time allowed.
In the map below you can check out the statistics per region. At the moment Japan is leading narrowly over North America, but Europe actually wins out if you count the eastern and western halves of the continent together.
The demo for Resident Evil 2 puts players in the role of Leon S. Kennedy as he first enters the Racoon City Police Department. The playable demo reflects gameplay footage first shown during E3 last year and displays a revamped camera perspective and controller layout in an attempt to modernize the game more than two decades after its original release.
Interestingly, while a lot of people are trying out the demo, the percentage of players who are actually completing it is much lower. At the moment, only 28% actually managed to make it in the thirty minutes of gameplay we have been granted.
If you want to try to increase that percentage, you can play the Resident Evil 2 demo that is currently available.
Resident Evil 2 launches on January 25th on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
