Corsair Release The CARBIDE SPEC OMEGA RGB Chassis
Corsair’s new Carbide Spec-Omega chassis has proven to be a popular addition to the company’s case lineup, so much so that Corsair’s design teams couldn’t stop themselves from creating an updated version with integrated RGB illumination. This is the CARBIDE SPEC-OMEGA RGB!
The SPEC-OMEGA RGB shares many of the same design choices as its predecessor, with the “unmistakable asymmetrical design and tempered glass panels to the front and side.” The stylistic angular aesthetic is built to pair well with the 30 RGB LEDs lined down the front of the chassis.
Corsair ships the SPEC-OMEGA RGB two 120mm Corsair HD120 RGB fans, with space for four more resulting in a healthy airflow. The lighting is controlled by the supplied Lighting Node PRO digital RGB lighting controller and the free Corsair iCUE software.
Inside the SPEC-OMEGA RGB, Corsair has left space for three 2.5-inch drives behind the motherboard tray and pace for two 3.5/2.5-inch drives within a removable hard drive caddy. At the front of the case, there is space for either three 120mm fans or two 140mm fans, giving users enough space for Corsair’s H110i and H150i AIO liquid coolers.
Despite being a mid-tower, Corsair emphasises that the SPEC-OMEGA RGB is built with space and compatibility in mind. The larger 360mm liquid cooling radiators, seen on the Corsair Hydro Series H150i Pro, should have no problem fitting into the chassis.
Tidiness is another key aspect to the case, with Corsair providing a removable PSU cover to neatly house the majority of wires. This combined with “a wealth of cable tie-downs, routing holes and grommets” should ensure that all system internals sit proudly, unobstructed behind the tempered glass panel.
The SPEC-OMEGA RGB comes in two versions, with Corsair offering a black or a white variant, dropping the red edition that was included in its predecessor’s lineup. Both versions are readily available from the Corsair Website and select third-party retailers.
