Death Stranding Is Officially Coming To PC On June 2nd
505 Games and Kojima Productions have confirmed that the PC version of Death Stranding will release on June 2nd 2020, with plans to release the game through both Steam and the Epic Games Store. On PC, Death Stranding will offer PC gamers support for advanced features like “high frame rate” support, a new “photo mode” and support for ultra-wide monitors. On Steam, the game will also include cross-over content from Valve’s Half-Life series.

On PlayStation 4, Death Stranding was limited to 30FPS framerates, but on PC, much higher framerates will be possible. Sadly, Kijima Productions has not confirmed that Death Stranding will have an unlocked framerate option on PC, but at a minimum, PC gamers can expect a 60 FPS mode. At this time, Death Stranding’s PC system requirements have not been confirmed.
Most exciting of which is a crossover with video game franchise Half-Life, which allows protagonist Sam Porter Bridges to sport a Headcrab on his noggin. It’s an interesting choice indeed, but it’ll be followed by a photo mode, a higher frame rate, and ultra-wide monitor support. It’s not yet known whether the new items will be added to the PS4 version of Death Stranding, but we doubt that’ll happen. This sort of content appears to incentivise people interested in the title into picking up the PC version, with 505 Games controlling things when it comes to publishing.
“Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding launches on Steam & Epic Games Store on June 2, 2020,” the tweet reads. “The PC edition features Photo Mode, high frame rate, ultra-wide monitor support & content from Valve’s Half-Life!” You can check out the Half-Life content in the video, which shows Sam wearing a sort of Head Crab hat. Obviously Kojima couldn’t resist.
