Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Now Available For PS4

Square Enix recently announced that they’ve added the long-awaited demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake to the PlayStation Store. The demo is now available on PS4 for free, and covers the beginning chapter of the game in which Cloud and the Avalanche terrorists launch an attack on one of Shinra’s Mako Reactors. The demo isn’t limited to PS Plus subscriptions either, so anyone can play it. Final Fantasy VII Remake is easily one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, and you won’t have to wait until its 10th April PlayStation 4 release to check it out. No, you can try it right now thanks to Square Enix dropping a demo onto the PlayStation Store this morning.

Just follow this link to the PlayStation Store and grab the trial for this gorgeous looking remake. The demo weighs in at 7.59GB and features the first chapter from the game, the Mako Reactor 1 bombing mission, letting you sample the very beginning of the game. However, Square Enix note that you won’t be able to carry your progress over to the retail version of the game and that content may differ from the final release.

Speaking of the retail version, Final Fantasy VII Remake is going to be a big game, shipping on two Blu-Ray discs and eating up around 100GB of storage space. The game is going to be a timed-exclusive for the PS4 until April 2021, after then, the game could show up on other platforms like PC or Xbox.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is split into parts with this initial release featuring an expanded version of the Midgar section. The game releases on the 10th of April 2020 for PS4.
