Final Fantasy VII Remake Is A PS4 Exclusive Until March 2021
Square Enix has released an updated version of the Final Fantasy VII Remake box art, which now features a label confirming the game will be a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4 until March 3, 2021. Below is the image (below) from the Square Enix press site (thanks, AllGamesDelta), showing that you can play it first on PS4, with the tiny text in the bottom right clarifying exclusivity:
As you can see, a newly designed label at the bottom right of the cover explains all. We wonder whether this will be a label that Sony applies to other timed exclusive titles going forward, or whether it’s part of the deal that it has with Square Enix. In any case, it’s quite an interesting detail, although there’s no word on which non-PlayStation platforms Final Fantasy VII Remake will come to in 2021.
Director Tetsuya Nomura recently revealed that work is already underway on the second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake, but it’s unknown how much of the original the second part will cover. The upcoming first entry will cover up to escaping Midgar. But for PlayStation fans, of course, nothing has changed. Final Fantasy 7 Remake launches for PS4 on 3rd March next year and is looking lovely.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will launch on PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
