Ghost Recon Wildlands: Year 2 Officially Announced

Ubisoft announced yesterday that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands: Year 2 will kick off on April 10 with the Special Operations 1 FREE update, which brings along a new campaign mission and gives players the ability to customize their AI teammates. On the PvP side, the update has a brand new class and the sabotage game mode for Ghost War, which will have five new maps built exclusively for it. Three more free Special Operations updates are planned for the year, each coming attached with a unique theme as well as more “missions, items, rewards, and community-requested features.”

Year 2 will include four free major updates titled Special Operations, each of which feature a unique theme, and updates for the PvE campaign. Each contain special free missions and special challenges with exclusive rewards.

Updates for Ghost War PvP will also be included alongside “features highly requested by the community.”

Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 – Special Operations 1 will feature the following Updates:

  • Teammate Customization: The most requested feature by the community, Team Customization will allow players to customize teammate outfits with all items they have unlocked for their own character
  • PvP Update: A new game mode called Sabotage with five exclusive maps, the first of six new PvP classes for Year 2 and new perk and explosive device
  • PvE Update: A free, themed PvE mission and special challenge with exclusive rewards.

Special Operations 1 will add teammate customization, which will allow players to customize teammate outfits with every item they have unlocked for their own character. It will also include a new PvP mode, called Sabotage. Sabotage is an objective-holding mode which comes with five maps. The update will also include a new PvP class, new weapons, and new perks.

For PvE, Special Operations 1 will add a special themed mission and challenge, as well as content planned for Update 5 “Reinforcement” and Update 6 “Bravo 6” on Ghost War’s original roadmap.

A $30 digital Year 2 Pass for Wildlands will offer all 6 of the Year 2 Ghost War classes, including a week of early access. It will also contain an exclusive customization pack, four Special Ops Battle Crates, and four Ghost War Battle Crates.
