Marvel’s Avengers had a giant presence at New York Comic Con this 12 months, and Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics had just a few surprises for followers on the present. One of the most important was the reveal of Ms. Marvel as a playable character, however that wasn’t the one takeaway from their Comic Con reveals.

Ms. Marvel, aka Kamala Khan, is the sixth playable superhero in Marvel’s Avengers. The character’s inclusion in the upcoming Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal-developed game was confirmed by publisher Square Enix at New York Comic Con on Friday.

Square Enix teased Ms. Marvel for Marvel’s Avengers back at San Diego Comic-Con in July, but a new trailer for the ambitious superhero game shows how Kamala Khan, and her polymorphic superpowers, will appear in-game.

As previously hinted at, Kamala acquires her Inhuman abilities to stretch and grow as a result of A-Day, the disastrous event that kicks off the story of Marvel’s Avengers. Kamala idolizes the Avengers, and after they disband, she makes an impassioned effort now a super-powered being herself — to bring Earth’s mightiest heroes back together.

Ms. Marvel will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in her own live-action television series, coming to Disney Plus. The Ms. Marvel TV show will debut on Disney’s upcoming streaming service in 2021 or 2022.

“Marvel’s Avengers combines an original story with single-player and co-operative gameplay in the definitive Avengers gaming experience. Assemble into teams of up to four players online, master extraordinary abilities, customize a growing roster of Heroes, and defend the Earth from escalating threats. Featuring regular content updates, Marvel’s Avengers will take players on an epic journey delivered over multiple years. This game is what’s next for the Avengers.”
