Mortal Kombat 11 Releases Sindel Gameplay Trailer

Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm Studios has today revealed the first gameplay trailer for the next upcoming DLC fighter, Sindel. Sindel, as you may recall, is a classic Mortal Kombat character known for her hair-based attacks and shattering screams. And now she’s set to return to the franchise in its latest and greatest installment, and interested fans don’t have long to wait.

The trailer, as seen below, begins with Sindel and Nightwolf rehashing their history, focusing on how Nightwolf’s sacrifice saved his clan and Earthrealm from Sindel’s attack. It then continues to show Sindel’s gameplay in a fight versus the Matoka warrior, a fitting intro for the character into Mortal Kombat 11. After this, it goes through several fights, highlighting everything from her hair whip attacks to her screams.

As you can see in the trailer above, the Mortal Kombat 11 version of Sindel does not disappoint when it comes to the classic character. There are a number of scream and hair-based moves to take advantage of, and the one Fatality (we assume) shown here has Sindel literally screaming her enemy apart. So, you know, classic Sindel.

Check out the official tweet from game director Ed Boone down below:

The introduction of Pennywise, the clown, will not be the first time NeatherRealm Studios breaks the fourth wall, should they do so. Pennywise will simply be one of many horror icons to join the Mortal Kombat arena, following Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, Alien from Alien, Predator from Predator, and many more non-horror icons. Notable of these other icons is Terminator T-800, a movie character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger and already present in the game from the same Kombat Pack.

Players also get a look at one of her fatalities near the end, where she picks up her target with her hair and lets loose a scream so powerful that it flays the skin of her target before a final burst blows them apart. The final reveal in the trailer is the characters who are getting new skins in the Gothic Horrors Skin Pack, namely Raiden, Geras, and Cetrion, as well as the Klassic Cassie Cage skin.

Sindel will join Mortal Kombat 11 via the $39.99 Kombat Pack on Nov. 26, then is available a la carte to everyone on Dec. 3., the Gothic Horrors Pack, and Klassic Cassie Cage on November 26, meaning players only have 12 days before they can first check out the Dark Empress hands-on.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
