Official Alien Twitter Account Teasing New Alien Game Starring Amanda Ripley
The official Twitter account has shared the following teaser video for a brand new project. Now while we are not certain whether this is a hint/teaser for Alien Blackout, a game that 20th Century FOX has already trademarked.
Alien Isolation launched back in 2014. While it wasn’t a critically acclaimed game but, fans loved it and still holds up as a good survival horror game. Now, the official Alien Twitter account has teased an Alien Isolation sequel.

The teaser video showcases what appears to be a VHS style recording. The first thing we see is Amanda Ripley’s uniform. For who don’t know, Amanda Ripley was the protagonist of Alien Isolation.
Then the video asks the question “Who is Amanda Ripley”. Alien Isolation ended at a cliffhanger, teasing there is more that Amanda needs to face as she is rescued in space.
Some have pointed out that this may not be for a game at all, and while that’s possibly, it doesn’t seem likely. During the teaser the tagline of “Read. Play. Watch.” appears on the screen. If this was for a new movie or book or anything that’s not a game, why would the word “play” be included?
The more pertinent question isn’t whether this is a game, it’s what game is it. Alien: Isolation sold decently well and reviewed not too shabbily either, but it didn’t exactly set the world on fire. So it seems unlikely it would be involved with that. Rather, this likely is a teaser for Alien: Blackout, which may be getting revealed soon if this teaser is anything to go by.
This might be teasing Alien Blackout, which was previously speculated to be revealed at the Game Awards 2018. While that didn’t happen but, the teaser for Alien Blackout revealed some juicy details.
The teaser for Alien Blackout came in the form a Tweet from Geoff Keighley. The tweet was an image featuring the logo of Weyland Yutani Corporation. For those who don’t know, Yutani Corporation is a fictional corporation that exits in the Alien universe. Not only that, Alien Blackout might not be the Alien Isolation sequel that fans are hoping for. According to the trademark, Alein Blackout is an online multiplayer experience.
As always, all this speculation should be taken with a grain of salt. An ambiguous teaser like this isn’t worth drawing too many conclusions from, nor getting too excited over. But if you’re an Alien fan, you’ll take what you can get. This is probably for Alien: Blackout, but we can dream and hope there’s two different Alien games in the pipeline.
Alien Isolation is a first-person survival horror game developed by Creative.
