Prince Of Persia Remake Reportedly Leaked By Online Retailer
The corporate Prince of Persia franchise, certainly one of its most profitable, but underused, IPs over the previous couple of years, seems to be getting some much needed love and a spotlight within the type of a remake. That’s in line with new retail listings noticed on Guatemalan retail web site MAX, a minimum of, which has the unannounced title down for a November launch on PlayStation four and PC.
Ubisoft hasn’t entirely forgotten that Prince of Persia exists. The character appeared in For Honor as a limited time mode, and was the focus of a VR escape room called Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time. But fans have been waiting for anything Prince of Persia since the release of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands in 2010.
The store page has, like usual, now been taken down, but some savvy users online managed to snap up some screenshots before then. Unfortunately the listing only includes a PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions, but we can’t see this not coming to PC considering Ubisoft’s own Uplay store continues to do well, and they haven’t exactly kept the famed Prince exclusive to any platform before.
Both real and fake leaks are common when a popular game franchise disappears for a long time, so skepticism is a safe response to these kinds of reports. In this case, nothing in the screenshotted listings inspires much confidence. Even for placeholders, the titles seem extremely generic and the box art looks like the 2008 game’s logo combined with unfamiliar concept art.
Fortunately for us, Ubisoft has another digital event happening in September, so it won’t be long until we officially find out at least. The listed release date is November 2020, which is not that far away now either, the only piece of the puzzle left to solve is which Prince of Persia game is exactly getting the remake treatment? well who knows.
