The Surge 2 Coming To PC And Consoles In 2019
The Surge 2 Coming To PC And Consoles In 2019. Deck13’s Souls-like The Surge evidently did well enough to warrant a sequel, with the developer announcing a renewal of its partnership with publisher Focus Home Interactive. Together, they’ll be working on releasing The Surge 2 on PC and consoles in 2019.
The sequel to the sci-fi character action game will retain the hardcore combat that “fans and critics love”. This means a return of the unique dynamic limb targeting system, which is a bit like Fallout’s V.A.T.S. but in real-time. In The Surge 2, players will be able to lop off individual limbs or attachments, and can even bolt it onto themselves for additional armour or firepower. This time around there’ll be more abilities, weapons, implants, and drones, providing a great arsenal to the player. Character progression will also be expanded greatly in order to provide deeper choices. You know, all the usual sequel stuff.
Settings-wise, The Surge 2 will take place in an all-new environment – a destroyed city with far more complex level design. From the sounds of it, The Surge 2 will be single twisting, turning, interconnected world. It’ll be populated with new enemies and array of brutal new bosses.
As far as sequels go, The Surge 2 sounds pretty much as straightforward as it gets. It sounds like much the same game, but more of it. That should be enough for fans of the series, but whether it’s enough to entice a new audience is a different matter.
Focus has said we can expect to see and hear more about The Surge 2 in the coming days. They’re targeting a 2019 launch on PC and undisclosed consoles.
